David Hughes, age 74, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at Advent Hospital in Tavares, GA, following an extended illness. He was born on September 30, 1951 the son of the late Mr. Herbert Hughes and the late Mrs. Agnes Hughes.
His survivors include: one daughter, Renae (Michael) Wilson of Dublin, GA; two grandchildren, Carlyn Wilson and Olivia Wilson of Dublin, GA; along with several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by: his beloved wife, Sheila Hughes; father, Herbert Hughes; and mother, Agnes Hughes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Music selections were chosen by the family: “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Because He Lives”.
