On January 25, 2026, deputies charged a 20-year-old woman with aggravated assault after she allegedly ran into another woman with her car during a dispute at a Jade Lane address. Two other individuals at the scene were later arrested because they had active warrants in other counties.
The incident took place around 1:45 p.m. when Stephanie Rouis went to the Jade Lane location to get some property that belonged to her and her son, David Rouis, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office. David Rouis was not with Stephanie; the report stated that he is in jail. However, there were other individuals with Stephanie when she went to the location.
While they were at the location getting the items, Shonda Gillespie showed up to see what was going on. Then she left. Hannah Gillespie returned in a blue car “and started causing problems,” according to the report. Another individual at the scene had video of what happened next. The report says that Hannah and Stephanie can be seen arguing. Then Stephanie can be heard saying, “I wish you would” as she turns and walks away. The report then states that Hannah accelerated the vehicle, a blue Scion, and hit Stephanie. Afterwards, Hannah drove off.
When officers spoke to Hannah, the report says she admitted to having problems with Stephanie in the past but she denied hitting Stephanie with her car.
Hannah Gillespie was arrested and charged with aggravated assault because of the video that showed her hitting Stephanie with her car, the report says. In the aftermath of the incident, officers discovered that Shonda Gillespie and Brittni Paulk, who was also at the scene, had active warrants for their arrests.
Paulk, 40, of Ambrose, was booked into the Coffee County Jail on January 26, 2026, at 9:39 a.m., on a warrant out of Upson County. Shonda Gillespie, 45, of Douglas, was booked into the jail at 4:51 p.m. on the same day on a warrant out of Long County.
