Coffee County sheriff’s deputies discovered suspected illegal drugs in a vehicle they stopped that belonged to an individual with active warrants. The suspect, identified as Herman Christian King, 27, of Nicholls, was arrested and remains in the Coffee County Jail.
According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, the stop took place on March 4, 2026, at around 7:30 p.m. Deputies saw a blue 2010 Ford Ranger that they knew King often drove. They saw the pickup on Clyde Rollins Road near Highway 32 West.
When they stopped the vehicle, officers saw that King was in fact the driver. There were two other individuals in the Ranger. There was also suspected methamphetamine in plain view on the center console. Officers searched the vehicle and found suspected marijuana and THC wax. King admitted that the methamphetamine was his, according to the report.
King was arrested on the active warrant and possession of methamphetamine charges. The two passengers were not detained. King has not been released.
