A Douglas woman was arrested and jailed after she allegedly used her former employer’s credit card to buy auto parts from AutoZone, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
The report states that on September 22, 2026, a deputy met with an individual at the sheriff’s office who wanted to file a report regarding alleged transaction card fraud. The complainant stated that a former employee, identified as Evelyta Dianne Leon, 34, of Douglas, had used her credit card to buy brake parts from AutoZone in Douglas and online.
The officer went to Leon’s residence and she was not there. A few days later, on September 26, 2026, Leon was taken into custody and booked into the Coffee County Jail on financial transaction card fraud charges. She was released on a $5,500 bond.
