Donald Ray “Duck” Batten, age 75, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Batten was born on May 11, 1950 to the late Milton & Meredith Batten in Douglas, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Odalina Salinas; three step children, Alejandra Escoto of Greenville SC, Boris (Haley) Escoto, and Ingrid (Marq) Roberts of Douglas, GA; six grandchildren, London Roberts, Grayson Roberts, Aleah Escoto, Bentley Escoto, Emilio Mejia and Valentina Mejia; two brothers, Lonnie Batten and David Batten; and one sister, Bonnie Batten Southerland along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Batten was proceeded in death by both parents, Milton Batten and Ellen Merritt Batten and three brothers, Virgil Batten, Ceaford Batten, and Carlton Batten.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Maj. Paul Elliott officiating.
Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery.
