Thursday afternoon, firefighters from the Douglas Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 900 block of North McDonald Road.
The fire started in the kitchen. The stove caught fire and while the blaze did get into the attic, most of the damage was limited to the kitchen area. The fire department responded quickly and the quick response time is a big reason why the fire didn’t cause more destruction than it did.
Within a short time, the fire was under control. The fire department reported no injuries as a result of the incident.
