Douglas Rotary Club joined the faculty and staff of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College in recognizing Taylor Stone as its February Student of the Month. Radiology Technologist student Taylor Stone was congratulated by Dean of Adult Education Kelly Peacock for being named “Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education” (EAGLE) student for 2026.
Mrs. Stone shared a touching speech about her journey to be the first in her family to earn the GED and her dreams of one day becoming a radiologic technologist in a hospital setting. After she completes the technologist certificate program at Wiregrass in Douglas, she plans to enter a bridge program and pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Attending the Rotary presentation were EAGLE Teacher of the Year Sandra Scurry, EAGLE Coordinator Darrell Hill, and Dean Kelly Peacock. Mrs. Stone lives with her husband and daughter in Pearson, GA and will be representing Wiregrass in a systemwide EAGLE competition in Atlanta.
