Officers from the Douglas Police Department responded to a call at Georgian Woods Apartments on McNeil Drive around 2 a.m. on August 22, 2026, and arrested a Douglas man on several charges as a result of an alleged domestic incident. According to a report describing the incident, this was at least the 10th time that officers had responded to a call involving this couple.
The report states that the suspect, identified as Khavoizea D’Martius Jamyre Campbell, 31, of Douglas, and a female victim had gotten into an argument at the apartments. The report says that Campbell grabbed the victim by the throat and “knocked her to the ground,” which resulted in a scratch on her back and marks on her neck. The victim’s child was at the apartment when the alleged incident happened.
Campbell also allegedly threatened to kill the victim’s son, according to the report.
The report also states that officers from the police department have responded more than 10 times to the apartments for incidents involving this same couple. In the past, the victim refused to speak with officers when they arrived.
