The 2026 college football season is underway and several Coffee High alumni are playing on teams at every level from NAIA to the Division I ranks. Here is how they’ve done so far this season.
Jaydon Vester, sophomore long snapper, Tennessee State: Tennessee State was idle last weekend.
Maurice Turner, a senior running back with the Tulane University Green Wave: Led Tulane’s rushing attack with 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winning 74-yard touchdown with 5:26 left in the game. Turner also caught 1 pass for 6 yards. Tulane won 24-21.
Tyrese Woodgett, sophomore running back at Georgia Southern: Recovering from a shoulder injury and will be sidelined for a few more weeks.
Jyarius Carter, sophomore linebacker at Mercer: 8 tackles (1 solo, 7 assisted), 1 of which was a tackle for loss (3 yards) in the Bears’ 34-17 win over Abilene Christian.
Anthony Paulk, redshirt sophomore defensive back at Charleston Southern: Charleston Southern was idle last week.
Jayden Hancock, sophomore defensive back, Charleston Southern: Charleston Southern was idle last week.
David “Tug” Vaughn, redshirt sophomore kicker at West Alabama: Played in West Alabama’s 17-7 win over Barton.
Kyler Smith, sophomore offensive lineman at Georgia Military College: Played in GMC’s 71-0 win over the Utah Islanders.
Chris Reed, sophomore linebacker at Reinhardt University: Recorded 3 tackles (2 solo, 1 assisted), 1 of which was a tackle for a loss (1 yard) in Reinhardt’s 48-0 win over Faulkner.
Jackson Banks, junior defensive tackle, Concord University: Played in Concord’s 43-42 loss to West Liberty.
Tyriq Edwards, redshirt sophomore defensive back, Cumberland University: 3 total tackles (1 solo, 2 assisted), half a tackle for a 1-yard loss, and 2 pass breakups in Cumberland’s 41-14 win over Florida Memorial.
Kenyon Livingston, freshman cornerback, Point University: Point was idle last week.
KJ DeBruce, freshman running back, Savannah State: Led Savannah State’s rushing attack with 11 carries for 82 yards in a 25-17 loss to Miles. He also caught a pass for 5 yards. S
