Evylyn Tarrance, born November 20, 1946, the daughter of the late Mr. Ivy Touchton, and the late Mrs. Lula Kirkland Tarrance.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed being around people, crocheting, and word search books. She attended both West Green Baptist Church and West Green Church of God. She has spent the last twenty-six years in the care of her loving niece and her husband and daughter.
Her survivors include: her niece, Donna (Bruce) Deen of West Green, GA; great niece, Hannah (Zach) Tribble of West Green, GA; great-great nephew, Braydon Tribble of West Green, GA; one sister, Ivylyn Townsend of Jacksonville, FL; one niece, Rhonda Alvarez of Jacksonville, FL; one great-nephew, Curt Robinson of Jacksonville, FL; one great-great niece, Crystal Robinson of Jacksonville, FL; and special Friends, Annie Faye and Phil Mote of Douglas, GA.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ivy and Lula (Kirkland) Tarrance; one brother, Touchton David Tarrance; and two nephews, David Martin Tarrance and Ivy Touchton Townsend.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA; from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, with Rev. Justin Moriarty and Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery in Chatterton, GA.
Active pallbearers will include: Brice Green, Jamie Kight, Jeremy Hayes, Anthony Taylor, Kayland Moore, and Nelson Corbitt.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Karey Van and Michelle Moore, Keith and Denice Burkett, Harvey and Fran Corbitt, Ronald and Sherry Lott, Annie Faye and Phil Mote, and Bethany Hospice Employees.
The piano will be played by Susan Kight.
Music selections were chosen by the family: “Stroll over Heaven” and “Amazing Grace”.
