A Douglas police officer stopped a 2010 Chevrolet pickup for not having a working tag light and arrested the driver on illegal drug charges after suspected methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.
According to an incident report, on August 12, 2026, at around 9:50 p.m., a police officer saw the vehicle on McNeil Drive and conducted the traffic stop. The driver, Oscar Hernandez, 38, of Douglas, consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search, the officer found a $1 bill that contained a small amount of suspected illegal drugs.
A female passenger was in the pickup as well. A female officer arrived and searched the passenger. Nothing was found and she was released.
Hernandez was charged with possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Coffee County Jail. He was later released on bond.
