Opening Night Headliner: Father vs. Son
The tournament begins with a marquee matchup on Thursday night at 6:30 PM when Coffee High School takes on Foundation Academy. The storyline adds even more excitement: Coffee Head Coach Scott Grove will face his son, Foundation Academy Head Coach Dakoda Grove.
The two have split previous matchups 1–1:
• In 2023, Scott Grove’s squad defeated Dakoda Grove’s team 4–0.
• In 2024, Dakoda Grove’s Foundation Academy defeated Scott Grove’s nationally ranked team 4–3, powered by back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning. Thursday’s contest provides another chapter in the family rivalry — with bragging rights on the line.
