On September 16, 2026, deputies from the sheriff’s office arrested a man on Harvest Street. That arrest resulted in an investigation of a home on Sparrow Street, which led to four more arrests on outstanding warrants and illegal drug charges.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, around 11:15 p.m. on September 16, a deputy was patrolling in Oak Park when he saw a man and a woman in the middle of Harvest Street. The deputy stopped the couple and spoke to them. The two were identified as Donna Jeane Lovell, 21, of Douglas, and John-Michael Morris Summey, 33, of Douglas.
The report states that Summey was acting in a suspicious manner. The officer asked him if he had anything illegal on his person and Summey produced a pipe and a plastic bag that contained suspected methamphetamine.
Lovell was not detained. Summey was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and booked into the Coffee County Jail.
On September 17, 2026, officers responded to the same Sparrow Street address at which Summey had been the night before, this time in reference to a domestic incident. Daniel Lowe, 39, of Douglas, was arrested on a probation violation warrant as a result of that call. An incident report states that Lowe had been suspected of selling drugs at the location.
The following day, detectives from the Douglas-Coffee County Drug Unit executed a search warrant at the Sparrow Street home. During the investigation, Dalton Lauramore, 26, of Douglas, another person suspected of selling drugs, according to the report, was arrested on a criminal trespass probation warrant and a theft by taking warrant. Carrie Morgan, 47, of Douglas, was also arrested on a probation warrant stemming from a theft by shoplifting charge.
Detectives didn’t find any drugs in the home. However, they found suspected methamphetamine on Michael Jowers, 32, of Douglas. He was also arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
Morgan, Summey, and Jowers remain in the Coffee County Jail. Lowe and Lauramore have been released.
