Mrs. Glinis Cumbass Carver, age 92, of Douglas, Georgia passed away Monday morning, June 29, 2026, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home, in Ocilla, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Carver was born December 24, 1933, to the late Pearlie Cumbass and the late Missouri Ricketson Cumbass. She was married to the late Carlis Carver who passed away in 1973. She lived out her life as a widow, loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. She found great joy in working outside. She was a chicken farmer and loved working in her yard, growing flowers, and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by four brothers: Owen Cumbass, Aubrey Cumbass, Clyde Cumbass, and Joseph Cumbass.
Mrs. Carver leaves behind two daughters: Dorothy C. Davis and husband, Tommie, and Mary C. Sherrod and husband, Roger, both of Douglas, Georgia; six grandchildren: Carl Davis and wife, Larissa, Carla Watson and husband, Albert, Allen Davis and wife, Tina, Brian Davis and Wife Tricia, Randall Sherrod, Mary Beth Sherrod and husband Sredrick; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Charlee Watson; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Carvers’ family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. Her graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Carver Baptist Church Cemetery with Bishop Joah Fussell officiating and Mr. Tommie Davis, dedicating the grave.
Active pallbearers will include Carl Davis, Allen Davis, Brian Davis, Randall Sherrod, Michael Cumbass, and Zane Watson.
