Ida Jewell, age 81, of Nicholls, GA; passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, March 22, 2026 following an extended illness. She was born on June, 16, 1944 the daughter of the late Mr. Frank Goodwin and the late Mrs. Vera Mae Emery Goodwin.
Her survivors include: two sons, Bob Jerome Jewell of Douglas, GA and Keith Loyd (Julie Hawks) Jewell of Douglas, GA; five daughters, Debra (Helaman) Morris of Douglas, GA; Lisa (Wade) Hurst of Norman Park, GA; Pamela Dupree of Douglas, GA; Candace (Johnny) Amerson of Douglas, GA and Chanda Jewell Wooten of Douglas, GA; twenty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Goodwin Wooten of Douglas, GA; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Bobby Loyd Jewell; father, Frank Goodwin; mother, Vera Mae Emery Goodwin; three brothers, Dewey Goodwin, Casey Goodwin, and Buford Ray Goodwin; and one grandson, Chad Burch.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA; from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Douglas, GA; at 2:00 PM, with Bishop Matt Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cumorah Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include: Jared Morris, Bruce Morris, Robby Wilson, Devin Bullock, William Amerson, Lloyd Amerson, Kip Jewell, B.J. Jewell, Dallin Wooten, and Justin Morris.
