Wiregrass Georgia Tech is excited to share the expansion of programs on various campuses and the addition of programs to the HOPE Career Grant List for Spring Semester 2018. Students enrolling for Spring Semester classes beginning January 9, 2018, will have more options to choose from and can save money on their college expenses if they enroll in one of the programs added to the Governor’s HOPE Career Grant List.

One new program being added to Valdosta Campus is the certificate program in the already established Air Conditioning Technology program. Students can sign up for an Air Conditioning Repair Specialist Technical Certificate starting Spring Semester.

Students on the Coffee Campus in Douglas have several news programs to choose from.  They include; Air Conditioning Repair Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit, Paramedicine Degree and Diploma, and Machine Tool- Basic Machinist Technical Certificate of Credit.

New to the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus is Railcar Repair Technical Certificate of Credit, Air Conditioning Repair Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit, Low Voltage Systems Installer Technical Certificate of Credit, and Low Voltage Safety and Security Technician Technical Certificate of Credit.

Beginning January 2018, students enrolled in any of the HOPE Career Grant programs and who qualify for the HOPE Grant and/or Zell Miller Grant could be eligible for additional monies to help pay for college tuition, fees, and/or books.  Graduates in these fields are graduating with little or no college debt. The programs that qualify are considered high-demand fields where jobs are needed in our state.  The grant is to encourage students to train for meaningful careers in critical Georgia industries in order to support and facilitate continued growth and success of these companies.

The new programs at Wiregrass that qualify include: Automotive Technology certificates and diploma programs, and Construction related programs like Air Conditioning Technology Diploma.  Some of the other programs included on the list at Wiregrass are: Welding, Machine Tool, Early Childhood Care, Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technology, Phlebotomy Technician, Gaming Development, Network Specialist, Cybersecurity, Website Design, and Commercial Truck Driving.  For a complete list of programs that qualify, please visit www.wiregrass.edu.

Wiregrass is currently accepting new students for Spring Semester.  Classes begin January 9, 2018.  Students are encouraged to visit their local campus today to enroll to get admission and financial aid paperwork in order. The campuses will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holidays November 23 and 24 and for Christmas Holidays December 25 through January 1.
