An Ambrose woman is in jail after she allegedly shot her sister’s vehicle four times with her sister inside. She was arrested on March 2 at around 2:40 a.m.
According to an incident report obtained from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call at 1414 Silver Brook Trail in Ambrose after getting a report of shots fired.
The report states that the victim went to the home to check on her sister, Carmen Wright, 43, who had been acting erratically. When the victim arrived, Wright answered the door with a pistol in her hand and began arguing with the victim, who soon left. As the victim was leaving, Wright went inside the home and grabbed a .22 rifle. She fired several rounds, four of which hit the victim’s vehicle.
Officers spoke with Wright who, according to the report, said that after speaking briefly with the victim, she pushed her down the stairs. As the victim drove away, the report states that Wright admitted to shooting at the vehicle. She added that the only reason she stopped shooting is because she ran out of bullets, the report states.
The victim was unharmed in the incident.
Wright was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a gun or knife during the commission of a crime. She was transported to the Coffee County Jail where she remains.
