Dr. Tulasi Acharya, South Georgia State College's Assistant Professor of English, has recently had a book ranked by BookAuthority as one of the "14 Best New Journalism Books To Read In 2023.” The book has also won the distinctions as "Best New Technical Writing Books" and "Best New Communication Books.” As featured on CNN, Forbes and Inc., BookAuthority is the leading site for book recommendations.

 

 

Dr. Acharya's book entitled "Handbook of Professional, Business & Technical Writing, and Communication and Journalism: A Reference Guide to all kinds of writing" is divided into two parts. Part one deals with technical topics in writing, such as business writing, proposal writing, writing for research, digital writing and other technical topics in writing, including even technical topics in literature. Part two is entirely on the topic of mass communication and journalism. The second part covers at length the issues and matters relating to mass communication and journalism, theories, and some technical aspect of editing, proofreading, photo editing, reporting, lay-out, broadcasting media, and so on.

Dr. Acharya was born in the South Asian country of Nepal. He completed his Master's degree in English in Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu. He also taught English and Journalism courses at colleges in Nepal, where he authored textbooks on mass communication and journalism. A prolific writer, Acharya published short stories, poems, and articles in Nepali journals, national newspapers and online. He moved to the United States in 2008 to pursue a Master's degree in creative writing. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, USA. 

 

 

Originally from Nepal, Acharya has a Master's degree in Women's Studies and a degree in Professional Writing. His research interests are disability, policy, gender and sexuality, marginalized narratives, critical theory, and post colonialism, including creative writing and translation.
