The Douglas and Coffee County Chamber and The North Florida and South Georgia office of Dale Carnegie Training®, the worldwide leader in professional development, performance improvement, leadership training and employee engagement, announces the recent graduating class in Douglas, Georgia.

The class, which was organized by the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Authority (“EDA”), included 24 participants from a range of progressive local organizations, including Fresher Brands, Brooks Auto Parts, Optima Chemical, Guthrie Motors, Premium Waters, South Georgia State College, as well as members of the Chamber staff.

The Dale Carnegie Training course was conducted at the Douglas Atrium Event Center from January 26, 2015 to March 15, 2015. Dale Carnegie Training and the Chamber of Commerce honored the class with a reception which was attended by friends, family, supervisors and co-workers of the participants.

John Heron, a local Dale Carnegie representative, said, “This was one of the most engaged groups we have worked with. They were all eager to grow and expand their comfort zones. We had a great diversity of participants from a high school student, to retail managers, sales and management and executive levels. That made for a strong cohesive group.”

Participants in the class included Elton Brooks, Chad Gay, Thomas Walker, Josh McCarty, Shane Cumbass, Joseph Switzer and Michael Taylor from Brooks Auto Parts; Matthew Stewart, Nick Sherman and Keith Woodward from Optima Chemical; Diana White, Roberta Brinkley and Stacy Harper from Premium Waters; LaToya Curtis and Mark Latham from South Georgia State College; Mike Moye from Pilgrim’s; Luke Christian from Fresher Brands; Mesha Davis and Andrea Taylor from the Chamber of Commerce; Sheya Taylor of Valdosta, Georgia; Logan Atkinson, a Coffee High School student; and Andrew Bellah and Aaron Guthrie from Guthrie Motors.

“Classes that focus on building leadership and networking skills help us create a better community and accomplish our goal of growing jobs and business in Douglas-Coffee County,” states Andrea Taylor, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and also a participant in the class.
