Several employees of City of Douglas Utilities Department recently helped the city of Albany, Georgia to restore power to their customers, following a devastating storm that hit on Jan. 2, 2017. The Douglas Utilities crew, consisting of Rex Ricketson, Kayler Mullis, Richard Butler, Dylan Deen, and Joe Simpson, spent twelve days working tirelessly to cleanup and restore electricity to citizens in Albany.
Several other cities throughout Georgia sent linemen to help restore power to Albany.
“When we saw the devastation in the Albany community and knew we had to help out in any way possible,” says Mike Hudson, Douglas Utilities Director. “Allowing our five employees to assist with cleanup and power restoration in Albany was the least we could do. We knew, that had it been our community that was hit with storm damage, we would have been able to count on neighboring communities to help restore power in Douglas.”
