Congregants of Faith Chapel Church on Mahogany Road say their prayers were answered last Saturday when Joseph Mark Dube turned himself in to authorities, confessing to two incidents in which the church was burglarized.
Representatives with the Coffee County Sheriff's Office report on August 3, 2014, a burglary was reported at Faith Chapel. Deputies arrived at the scene, where they were met by a member of the church who stated he observed the back door open when he arrived that morning. Upon further investigation, he discovered a window at the rear of the church had been broken. It was later determined that a small amount of cash had been taken from one of the offices.
On August 6, deputies again responded to the location, where it was reported that someone had broken windows on both the front of the church and the south side. According to a member of the church, nothing appeared to be missing but he surmised that someone had gone through the building searching for something to take.
Congregants of Faith Chapel stated they came together to pray about the burglaries during a Wednesday night service on August 6, and Dube turned himself in the following Saturday. He is currently incarcerated at the Coffee County Jail without bond.
Sheriff's officials report there is also a juvenile who will be charged for his involvement in these burglaries, but he has not been detained as of yet.
