Cleo Adams Chaney, 81


Ms. Cleo Adams Chaney, age 81 of Douglas, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, July 23, 2022 at her home. Ms. Chaney was born August 22, 1940 to the late John Quincey Adams and the late Nellie Mae Ellis Adams. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Damon Chaney, Sr. 2 Sons: Darrell Chaney and Kelly Chaney; 1 Daughter-in-Law: Deborah Chaney and 7 Siblings: Rev. T. L. Adams, Wanda Stone, Frances Wood, Donald Adams, Dorman Adams, Helen Adams Davis and Thurston Yancy. 

 

 

Ms. Chaney, a native of Coffee County, was retired as a LPN from Coffee Regional Medical Center after many years of service. Also she had been a Pink Lady at Coffee Regional Medical Center having over 3,000 hours of service to the Pink Lady Organization. She was a member of Church of Christ.

1 Son: Damon Chaney and wife Denise of Douglas, GA 

 

 

4 Brothers: Kenny Adams and Randy Adams both of Douglas, GA 

Woodrow Adams of Hinesville, GA 

Wendell Adams of Atlanta, GA 

 

 

1 Daughter-in-Law: Christy Chaney of Douglas, GA 

 

 

8 Grandchildren: Wendy Boggan Shoop of Tallahassee, FL 

Angela Helm Galm of Douglas, GA 

Nick Helm of Douglas, GA 

Stephen Sprinkle of Douglas, GA 

Nikki Chaney of Tallahassee, FL 

Mandy Chaney Hutchison of Charleston, SC 

Jamie Chaney of Warner Robins, GA

A number of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Robison and Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Her son, Damon Chaney will present a eulogy. The interment will follow at Wayfare Cemetery just off the Old Axson Road. 

 

 

Pallbearers for the service will be Darren Joiner, Kevin Adams, Terry Tatum, Ryan Stone, Gary Chaney and JR Chaney. 

 

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.
