Infant Koe Walker Kirkland was born Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, where he soon passed into the arms of Jesus. Although only on earth for a brief amount of time, Koe was deeply loved by his Mommy, Madison Mercer, and his Daddy, Kyler Kirkland, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Along with his mommy and daddy, Koe left a lasting memory of love with his maternal grandparents, Mardy and Bridgette Mercer of Ambrose, Georgia; his paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Chris and Skylie Kirkland of West Green, Georgia; his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Bridget and Ryan Luke of Fitzgerald, Georgia; maternal great grandparents include Jimmy and Twanda Ricketson of Douglas, Georgia, Dudley and Mary Vickers of Ambrose, Georgia, and Linda Mercer of Mora, Georgia; paternal great grandparents include Amanda and Bud Davis of Douglas, Georgia, Donnie Beasley of Ambrose, Georgia, and Jerry Kirkland of West Green, Georgia; along with countless extended family members who were waiting with great anticipation for Koe’s arrival.
A funeral service to honor the life of Koe, and support his mommy and daddy, will be held on Monday afternoon, February 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Derrick Smith and Rev. Brandon Doyle officiating. Musical selections will be presented by Phaedra Merritt. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service.
