Mrs. Janet Kelly Wade, age 95, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026, at Lakeside Senior Care following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Wade was born April 29, 1930, in Chauncey, Georgia, to the late Ralph Berriman Kelly and the late Ola Stewart Kelly. She was a wonderful homemaker and found great joy in caring for her late husband Luther Whitney Wade and raising their four children. She was known for her love of cooking and sharing with others. She would cheerfully give the shirt off her back to anyone in need and loved serving others. Mrs. Wade was an active member of Douglas First Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Wade, a daughter, Kelly Thacker, and a grandson, Jake Thacker.
Mrs. Wade will be forever missed by her daughter, Marsha Hatfield and husband Jeffrey of Cedartown, Georgia; her son, Joseph Bradford Wade of Douglas, Georgia; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Wade of Douglas, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jacy Wade Pitts and fiancé, Chris Haffner, of Smyrna, Georgia, Jeffrey Whitney Wade, Jr. and wife Melita, Bradford Joseph Wade of Kennesaw, Georgia, Sarah Jeffrey Wade, and Hudson Wade; two great grand children Brynn and Braxton Pitts; a sister, Lois Meadors of Los Lunas, New Mexico; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mrs. Wade will be memorialized by cremation, and no services are scheduled at this time.
