Mr. Jim “Bodie” Dotson, age 60, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday morning, June 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bodie was born February 9, 1966, in Wauchula, Florida, to June Hall Eldridge and the late Jimmy Dotson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Following his military service, he became an electrical lineman and worked for a number of years with Jingoli Power Company. He was a pilot and he loved to fly his plane and see the world from above. When he wasn’t flying, he could often be found riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He was of the Baptist faith.
Bodie leaves behind two sons: Jesse Dotson of Semmes, Alabama, and Kodie Dotson of Bartow, Florida; two Grandsons: Waylon Bodie Dotson and Kolten Dotson, both of Semes Alabama; his mother, June Hall Eldridge of Douglas, Georgia; a brother, Jody Dotson (Kim) of Douglas, Georgia; a sister, Yvette Hendry (Dane) of Wauchula, Florida; two half-brothers: Jimmy Dotson (Laura) and Jessie Dotson, both of Enterprise, Mississippi; a half-sister, Tiffany Abston (Raymond); along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A graveside funeral service and interment will be held to honor Bodie’s life on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, at Sand Hill Cemetery with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating.
