Mark your calendars! On Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Keep Douglas Beautiful (KDB) Board and volunteers will host the annual Clear Your Clutter Pick-Up Event—a community initiative to help residents declutter and beautify their surroundings.
“If you live within the city limits and have large, unwanted items cluttering your space, this is your chance,” said Destiny Paulk, KDB Executive Director. “This free service is designed to assist those who may not have the ability to transport items to the monthly Junk Drop-Off location.”
How to Apply:
Residents within the Douglas city limits may apply by completing an application at the Community Development Department, City Hall (302 S. Madison Avenue) or by downloading the form at www.cityofdouglasga.gov/KDB. Completed applications must be mailed or dropped off at City Hall by Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Applications must include all required information.
Important Details:
- Approved applicants will be notified at least two weeks before the event. Priority will be given to disabled and elderly (65+) residents.
- Items must be placed curbside only after notification of pick-up.
- Acceptable items include furniture, appliances (washing machines, refrigerators, dryers, stoves, microwaves, TVs). All chemicals must be drained from appliances.
- Hazardous materials will NOT be collected, including paints, solvents, household cleaners, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, or tires.
Due to limited time on March 7, 2026, not all applicants will be served. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a one-time curbside pick-up service provided by the Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee.
