On Saturday, March 7, 2026, volunteers from Keep Douglas Beautiful and PCC Airfoils came together for the annual Clear Your Clutter event, helping residents remove large, unwanted items from their properties. As part of the organization’s yearly work plan, this event kicked off the first of several scheduled workdays for 2026.
Volunteers split into two teams and made a great impact across the community. One group visited households approved for pickup service and gathered enough discarded items to fill two full trailer loads. They removed old refrigerators, couches, vacuums, and a variety of other household items, providing meaningful support to the residents they served.
The second group focused on the Kinwood Estates area of Douglas, working together to clear piles of discarded materials along the roadside. The team effort removed building materials, furniture, mattresses, cabinets, bedding, curtains, and several shopping carts. The area looked cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone as volunteers ended their morning.
“As we provide this service to our residents each year, we hope to see even more citizens take advantage of this free opportunity,” says Destiny Paulk, KDB Executive Director. “Since it’s offered only once a year, we’d love to see more households and volunteers participate.”
A heartfelt thank-you goes to Holt’s Bakery which provided donuts for volunteers. A special and grateful thank you to PCC Airfoils and every volunteer whose dedication helped make this event a success.
