Yvonne “Von” Parker, age 79, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1947, to the late Spencer and Maggie Allison.
Yvonne was a longtime and cherished member of the Douglas Country Club, where she enjoyed staying active and connecting with friends. She had a love for working out, traveling, and making memories wherever life took her. Above all, Yvonne treasured the time she spent with her beloved dog, Maggie May, who was a constant source of love and companionship.
She was survived by: daughter, Wendi McDaniel (Wade); stepson, Norman Parker 4th; stepdaughter, Pam Parker Rushing; grandchildren, Whitney Spigener and Wylie McDaniel; brother, Lowell Allison; great-grandchildren, Allison Spigener and Parker Spigener; and her four-legged fur friend, Maggie May.
Along with her parents, Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Parker III; two brothers, S.C. Allison and Johnny Mac Allison; loving dog, Bitzi.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Sims Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked all donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Douglas, Georgia. The golf club crowd will stand as pallbearers. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
