Ludell Harper, age 95, of Ambrose, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. She was born on September 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Mr. Riley Luke and the late Mrs. Nellie Jernigan Luke.
Her survivors include: six daughters, Sandra (Denny) Taylor of Wray, GA, Marie Mckinnon of Mora, GA, Patsy (Glen) Lott of Holt, GA, Elecia (D.W.) Harper of Lax, GA, Cindy (Stephen) Burt of Ambrose, GA, and Robbie Lynn (Lamar) Merritt of Ambrose, GA; one son, Lamar (Brenda) Harper of Ambrose, GA; sixteen grandchildren, Wade Taylor, Travis McKinnon, Shanda McKinnon Worth, Dewayne Harper, Dewight Harper, Misty Harper, Jeremy Harper, Cody Harper, Chad Courson, Tye Courson, Tyler Harper, Ashton Harper, Cole Harper, Madison Burt, Ross Merritt, and Matthew Merritt; several step-grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins and two caretakers, Maria Alvarado and Audrea Bennett. She was preceded in death by: two husbands, Odis Harper and Rosoe Harper; one daughter, Rhonda Harper; two sons, Gerald Harper and Riley Harper; two grandsons, Stacy Taylor and Michael McKinnon; one son in law, Monroe McKinnon; two sisters, Carolyn Black and Mozell Pridgen; three brothers, Raymond Luke, Milton Luke, and Johnny Luke; father, Riley Luke; and mother, Nellie Jernigan Luke.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.
Graveside services will be held at Elam Harper Cemetery in Ambrose, GA, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. George Carroll Paulk and Rev. Roger Luke officiating. Interment will follow at Elam Harper Cemetery in Ambrose, GA.
Active pallbearers will include: Travis McKinnon, Dewayne Harper, Chad Courson, Ashton Harper, Ross Merritt, Ty Courson, Matthew Merritt and Cole Harper.
