A pair of Coffee Trojans made the Georgia Dugout Club’s Class 5A All-State team. Junior starting pitcher Gavin McElroy was named Second Team All-State while sophomore infielder Jimmy Timothy made Third Team All-State.
McElroy pitched in 14 games, starting 13. He was 5-3 with a 2.36 ERA and 80 strikeouts to 26 walks in 68 1/3 innings. Opponents hit just .219 when he was on the mound. McElroy was also named First Team All-Region and he was selected as Coffee High’s Pitcher of the Year and team MVP, which was voted on by his teammates.
Timothy played in 30 games and hit .416 with 22 RBI. He also amassed 10 doubles, three triples, and a .475 on-base percentage. Timothy was named Region 2-5A Co-Offensive Player of the Year and was 2025’s Region Freshman of the Year.
Both McElroy and Timothy are playing together this summer on the Atlanta Braves Scout Team 17U, coached by former Atlanta Brave (and Douglas resident) Ryan Klesko.
