Douglas police officers arrested two subjects on illegal drug charges during a traffic stop for a potential tag light violation. The incident took place just before midnight on September 16,2026.
According to the incident report, a DPD officer stopped the vehicle, a 2005 Ford Focus, which was driven by Gregory Blake Whitaker, 31, of Douglas. There was also a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Courtney Rittenberry-Davis, 41, of Douglas, who was not wearing a seatbelt. She also had an open bottle of liquor in the floorboard at her feet, the report says.
The officer asked Rittenberry-Davis to step out of the vehicle. While talking with her at the back of the patrol car, the report says that Rittenberry-Davis reached into her shirt and produced a bag containing suspected crystal meth. She also had a pipe and suspected marijuana, the report says.
The officer also spoke with Whitaker, who initially denied knowing anything about the meth. The report says that he eventually admitted that he had carried Rittenberry-Davis to buy meth and the two of them were going to use it. As Whitaker was being arrested, the report says he stated that the officer “could have at least let me use some first.”
Both were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. They were booked into the Coffee County Jail and later released on bond.
