Miss Patricia Gertrude Melton, age 73, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia, following a recent decline in health.
Patricia was born May 23, 1952, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Owen Parnell Melton and the late Gertrude Stella Stevens Melton. She made her career with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She was also a tax preparer with H & R Block for many years. Patricia was a loving mother and grandmother. Her two granddaughters were the apple of her eye, and she found great joy in anything that she was able to do with them. She also enjoyed family gatherings and going to the beach. She was a member of Saving Grace Ministries.
Patricia leaves behind her loving daughter, Amanda Nicole Ledford of Douglas, Georgia; her two precious granddaughters, Blaire Ledford and Brynlee Ledford of Douglas, Georgia; a brother, Gary Melton and wife, Kathy of Douglas, Georgia; a sister, Denise M. Penland and husband, David of Waycross, Georgia; and two nieces: Heather Nipper and husband Brian of Waycross, Georgia, and Michelle Hutto of Valdosta, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorialization will be by cremation, and Patricia’s family will hold a memorial service in her honor on Saturday afternoon, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Matt Rutland and Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating.
