Former Trojan and redshirt sophomore defensive back at Charleston Southern is one of six Buccaneers to receive pre-season All-Conference honors. The Bucs have two offensive players (receiver Mekhi Campbell and lineman Ethan Hunt) and four defensive players (Paulk, fellow defensive back Champ Brantley, linebacker Steve Zayachkowsky, and lineman Mylan Bowen) on the list.
Last season, Paulk was named Defensive Player of the Year for the OVC-Big South Conference. He finished the season with 33 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two forced fumbles, six pass breakups, and two blocked punts in 12 games.
Charleston Southern opens its season on August 27 at Lindenwood. A week later, Paulk and fellow former Trojan Jayden Hancock (also a DB) will square off against another former Trojan and current Georgia Southern Eagle running back Tyrese Woodgett when the Bucs travel to Statesboro on September 5 for a 7 p.m. showdown.
