A 48-year-old who allegedly fled from police, saying he was going to talk to his mama, was arrested and charged with possessing illegal drugs.
According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, on February 24, 2026, a Douglas police officer saw an individual walking in the direction of a known drug house. The man was identified as Marcus Bernard Walker, Sr., 48, of Douglas. The officer stopped to talk to Walker, who initially agreed to speak with the officer. He decided not to talk with officer and started walking away. The officer asked where he was going and he said, “To talk to my mama.” Then, the report says, he started running.
Another officer saw Walker running to Zaxby’s. The officers were able to stop him and found a bag of suspected cocaine on his person. Walker was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and transported to the Coffee County Jail. He was later released.
