Mr. Ronald Lamar Fussell, age 67, of Ambrose, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his residence following a recent illness.
Lamar, a Coffee County native, was born January 5, 1958, to Betty Lureene Joiner Fussell and the late Bernie Fussell. He was a graduate of Coffee County High School and made his career as a salesman for Jerry’s Sports Shop in Ambrose, Georgia. He was a loving husband and father, and he found great enjoyment with his family, as well as hunting and fishing. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Along with his father, Lamar was preceded in death by a nephew, Joshua Todd Carter.
Lamar is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Sandra Carelock Fussell of Ambrose, Georgia; a son, David Courson, Jr. and wife, Jennipher, of Los Angelas, California; a sister, Twyla F. Carter and husband, David, of Ambrose, Georgia; 2 nephews: Dustin Carter and wife, Brandy, of Douglas, Georgia, and Davy Carter, of Ambrose, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members.
Honoring Lamar’s wishes, memorialization will be by cremation, and no services are scheduled at this time.
