Mr. Russell Soloman Trammell, age 80, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 2025 at Satilla Hospice House following a period of declining health.
Mr. Trammell was born November 2, 1944 in Gardner, Kansas to the late James Walter Trammell and the late Anna Ella May Fowler Trammell. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and a former National Guardsman. Following his military service he became chief technician in the cable television industry working a number of years for Douglas Televiewers. He was known to everybody as “Papa”. He was a generous man who loved to make people smile, and was always known for his cup of tea.
Along with his parents, Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his loving wife, LaGene Miles Trammell.
Mr. Trammell is survived by daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a sister, and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Memorialization was by cremation and a memorial service and joint inurnment will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Trammell at Douglas City Cemetery at a later date.
