The Salvation Army Douglas Service Center is celebrating 31 years of serving Coffee County with a grand reopening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, September 14, at noon. The celebration will also introduce the community to the Service Center Director, Jessica Copcutt, who is eager to build strong relationships throughout the community and work hands-on with local residents, civic leaders, and community partners to help Coffee County neighbors in need.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Douglas Service Center, 110 Gaskin Ave. S., Douglas, Georgia. The public is invited to attend.
“This is an exciting time for The Salvation Army in Douglas,” said Copcutt. “For 31 years, this store has been a part of the Coffee County community, and I’m looking forward to building on that legacy. I want this to be a place where people know they are welcome, where we can build relationships throughout the community, and where our work helps make a difference for our neighbors who are facing difficult circumstances.”
The thrift store provides affordable shopping opportunities for the community while supporting the local ministry and programs of The Salvation Army. Proceeds from the store help provide resources for individuals and families in need throughout Coffee County.
The grand reopening celebration will continue throughout the day with special sales held periodically, giveaways, snacks and other fun activities for shoppers and members of the community.
