Sandra Lee Stork Mingledorff passed away peacefully at about 8:30 PM on the 28th of July, 2026. She was born the 18th of January 1943 to Dr. A. Robert Stork, MD, and Jean Ann Pippen Stork in Charleston, WV. She and her younger sister, Susan, could rightfully say they were delivered by the Stork.
Her childhood was spent at the heels of her father, much like a tomboy, in Logan, West Virginia. Schooling was Logan public schools where she graduated from high school.
She attended Hillsdale College, Maris Harvey College, and Marshall University where she studied Library Science and French.
She worked at various times as clerk/typist/secretary with WV Highway, WV Board of Education, Home Depot, Materials testing lab, Squawks, Cobb State Court, and Cobb Co Police.
On the 10th of July, 1971, she and George Henry Mingledorff III were married in Charleston, WV. After their first child, Ann, was born in 1973, the family moved to Atlanta, GA where their second child, George, was born in 1975.
In 2003, Sandra took an early retirement from the Cobb Co Police to join Marie Mingledorff, at her request, as a live-in aide. Both were mobile at this time and toured South Georgia together. Since Marie was a life-long school teacher in Coffee County, she introduced Sandra widely. Sandra’s gift of time added over three years of quality time to Marie’s life.
The final six years of her life, she suffered the increasing impact of dementia/Alzheimers. This forced her into Vista Park the final three months. They treated her royally.
Her survivors include her beloved husband, George Henry Mingledorff III of Douglas, GA; one son, George Henry Mingledorff IV of Douglas, GA; one daughter, Ann Marie (James) Crouch; three grandchildren, Charlotte Crouch, Madelyne Crouch, and James Crouch; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held for her at a later date.
