The Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC), through its Round Up program, has made another generous contribution to the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) Foundation North. The $5,000 donation will be used to provide scholarships for deserving Wiregrass students.
Satilla REMC has been a long-standing and valued partner of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, with total contributions exceeding $145,000 over the years. These funds have played a vital role in expanding access to education and supporting students who need financial assistance to achieve their academic and career goals.
“Satilla Rural Electric is always supportive of our students, and we very much appreciate this gift,” shared Wiregrass President DeAnnia Clements. “This donation will provide additional opportunities for our students to complete their education and pursue meaningful careers.”
The Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation Foundation made donations in December to support education initiatives that benefit communities and residents throughout southeast Georgia. The contribution to Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will support student and program success through student scholarships, program equipment, capital projects, and other strategic investments that help promote a highly skilled workforce.
Funding for these monetary awards is made possible through voluntary contributions from Satilla REMC members who participate in the Round Up program by rounding up their monthly electric bills. These small contributions collectively make a significant impact on education and workforce development across the region.
