Susan Marie Giddens Barlow, 52, of Wray, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 28 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Susan was born on July 13 to Evelyn Hutchinson Griffin and Chuck Giddens in Fitzgerald, GA. After graduation from Coffee High School in 1988, she matriculated to South Georgia State College.
Soon after school, Susan welcomed two beautiful girls, Lauren Ashlee and Cadie Marie, they were her pride and joy.
Susan was an entrepreneur at heart and owned several businesses, including her beloved, Susan Barlow Photography. She enjoyed taking pictures for her clients, but her favorites were those of her family, especially her grandchildren Braylee and Griffin. We will cherish forever those beautiful moments in time she captured.
Susan loved to ride her 6-seater golf cart around St. Simons Island (SSI) blasting her favorite 80’s playlist with her dog Louie. Bebe, her cat, wasn’t much of a people person but she adored Susan. She was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and was able to attend the 2022 Orange Bowl in Miami when the Dawgs embarrassed the Michigan Wolverines and moved on to win a national title. Ms. Barlow was a member of Carver Baptist Church, but she attended New Hope Baptist Church in Ambrose.
Susan is predeceased by Evelyn and James Arthur Griffin, and Chuck Giddens. She is survived by Daughters: Cadie Barlow of Wray, GA and Lauren Barlow of Brunswick, GA. Sisters: Melissa Griffin of Orlando, FL and Jennifer Amy Griffin of Wray, GA. Brother: Scott Giddens and wife Heather of San Jose, CA. Grandchildren: Braylee Chism of Brunswick, GA and Griffin Barlow of Wray, GA. Niece: Anslee Clark of Wray, GA.
