Mr. Tyler Kyle Harper, age 16, of Douglas, Georgia, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday afternoon, March 7, 2026, at Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous three-year battle with Osteosarcoma.
Tyler was born May 29, 2009, in Ocilla, Georgia, to Kevin Kyle Harper and Christine Danielle Stone Harper. He was a student at Coffee County Middle School where he completed the 8th grade. Tyler came to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was a member of Saving Grace Ministry where he aspired to become a Youth Pastor. He loved his family dearly, and his greatest joy in life was making other people happy. His favorite pastimes were fishing and 4-wheeler or golfcart riding, but when indoors he enjoyed playing games on his Play Station and watching his favorite television program, Heartland. Tyler will long be remembered by friends, family and all who came to know him for his love for life, love for others, and love for Jesus.
Tyler leaves behind his parents, Kevin and Christine Harper of Douglas, Georgia; two brothers Nathanial Reynolds and Cameron Reynolds, both of Douglas, Georgia; one sister, Aleah Tanner of Douglas, Georgia; paternal grandfather, Olan Fredrick Harrison of Douglas, Georgia; along with several cousins and extended family members.
Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Traci Harper, and maternal grandparents, Eddie and Robin Lee Stone.
Tyler’s family will receive friends at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral celebrating Tyler’s life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Saving Grace Ministry with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Hill Cemetery.
