A 32-year-old undocumented resident of Douglas is in the Coffee County Jail on serious charges for alleged sex crimes against a child.
According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, Arsenio Aguilar-Aguilar, 32, of Douglas, was arrested on July 18, 2026, after officers responded to a Daughtry Avenue address in reference to a child molestation complaint. The call came in around noon.
When officers arrived, the complainant stated that Aguilar-Aguilar had started drinking on July 17 and continued through the night. Around 9 a.m. on July 18, the complainant attempted to enter a bedroom of the house. The door was locked the report says, but the complainant “forced the door open.”
When she entered the room, she saw Aguilar-Aguilar “adjusting his clothing.” A juvenile was in the room with no clothes on. According to the report, Aguilar-Aguilar started hugging the complainant and saying “It’s not what you think.”
The complainant attempted to make a call on her phone but Aguilar-Aguilar took it from her and left in a Toyota Tacoma. The report says that the juvenile stated that Aguilar-Aguilar had touched her.
Aguilar-Aguilar turned him into authorities on July 22. He was charged with rape and cruelty to children in the 1st degree. During the investigation, officers also learned that Aguilar-Aguilar was undocumented. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
