Virginia Lee Griffis, age 87 of Broxton, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her residence. She was born on October 2, 1938, the daughter of the late Mr. Ottis Corbitt and the late Mrs. Mabel Corbitt.
Her survivors include: one son, Greg (Angela) Griffis of Broxton, GA; one daughter, Janet (Louie) Strom of Broxton, GA; five grandchildren, Haley (Robert) Wooten, Kelli Griffis, Kayla (Caleb) Eason, Holly (Mart) Wicker and Chris (Cassie) Griffis; twelve great grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Kight, Ashlyn (James Eason) Gray, Madison (Gaven) Peterson, Kadin Gray, Gracie Ellis, Rayla Morris, Rayce Sturges, Nicole Odum, Julia Wicker, Noah Wicker, Nathan Wooten, Kolt Wooten; seven great great grandchildren, Layson Peterson, Willow Peterson, Fisher Kight, Ollie-Anna Eason, Cash Griffis, Legend Griffis and Gemma Griffis; along with several nieces and nephews and special friend Geneva Carelock. She was preceded in death by her father, Ottis Corbitt; mother, Mabel Corbitt; and sister, Sylvia Corbitt Douglas.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Saving Grace Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Cliff Kirkland and Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. Interment will follow the service.
Active pallbearers will include: Jacob Kight, Kadin Gray, Christopher Griffis, Robert Wooten, Mart Wicker and Caleb Eason.
