Wendie McConnell, age 63, of Hephzibah, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, GA, following a sudden illness. Mrs. McConnell was born on May 23, 1962, in Coffee County, GA to Carolyn D. Holton and the late Robert Holton.
Survivors include: husband, Charles McConnell of Augusta, GA; one son, Jacob (Elizabeth) Holton of Douglas, GA; three daughters: Missy Gross of Douglas, GA, MacKenzie (Gordon) Carver of Augusta, GA and Alexis Linberg of New Orleans, LA; ten grandchildren: Jordan Holton, Elora Holton, Leia Holton, Luke Holton, Hinton Carver, Willow Carver, Garron Carver, Mabel Carver, Ronan Carver and Noah Gross; one brother, Andy (Sherryl) Holton of Douglas, GA; one sister, Renee Holton; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her father, Robert Holton and one sister, Tami Bell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Whitehead Jr. officiating. The interment will take place at a later date.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
