The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce joined the Coffee County School System, community leaders, educators, students, and families to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new West Green Elementary School during a ceremony held in the school’s cafeteria.
The program opened with a welcome and invocation from Dr. Morris Leis, Superintendent of the Coffee County School System. Remarks followed from Bryan Preston, Chairman of the Board of Education, along with reflections from community member Ms. Carol Morgan. Teachers Jennifer Bryan and Dominique Carver shared perspectives from the classroom while Miss Lanie Grace Justice, a student, offered student remarks. Amy Vining, Principal of West Green Elementary, concluded the program before the official ribbon cutting took place with staff and students.
The new West Green Elementary school represents a significant investment in education and the future of the community. The facility provides a modern, welcoming learning environment designed to support students, educators, and families for years to come.
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce was proud to be part of this milestone celebration and is thankful for a community and school system that continues to invest in education and future generations.
