West Green recognizes hemophilia month in honor of Zander Kirkland

March is Hemophilia Awareness Month.  Zander Kirkland, a kindergarten student at West Green Elementary School, was diagnosed from birth with hemophilia.  This diagnosis affects everything he does, but it does not hold him back from doing everything that he wants to do.  He still plays basketball, football, baseball, and plays like any other child would.  Hemophilia is a bleeding disease that many people do not hear about and prevents blood from clotting properly, so a person who has it bleeds more than someone without it does.  To show their support of Zander, a display was created in the hallway near his classroom and the faculty and staff purchased t-shirts with his name on them to wear.  The faculty and staff of West Green Elementary are very blessed to have such a special little boy as part of their student body!
