Wilbert L. Smith, age 86, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 15, 2026. He was born on September 28, 1939, to the late Mack Smith and the late Daisy Smith.
His survivors include his beloved wife, Melba Smith of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Donna (Donnie) Huff and Teresa (Bruce) Vining; three sons, Joey (Kelly) Smith, Terry (Belinda) Smith, and Donnie Smith; sixteen grandchildren, Tonya Beaureguard, Christopher Koivisto, Stephanie Williams, Taylor Smith, Jade Smith, Kolson Smith, Asher Woodard, Shannon Smith, Jason Carver, Darren Smith, Kasey Smith, Grady Leavens, Eddie Courson, Darian Patton, Amanda Roberts, and Amber Smith; along with several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Smith; his mother, Daisy Smith; and a granddaughter, Shelvy Smith.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Living Waters Family Worship.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Living Waters Family Worship at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Jackie Smith and Bro. Darrell Smith officiating and Jade and Taylor Smith serving as special speakers. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will include Brock Roberts, Jace Harper, Chris Koivisto, Henry Beaureguard, Carl Beaureguard, Shelton Smith, and Malachi Williams.
Food will be served after the service at West Ward Church of God.
