Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is proud to announce a new articulation agreement with the University of Phoenix, creating expanded opportunities for students to seamlessly continue their education from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree program.
This partnership is designed to provide Wiregrass students with a clear and efficient transfer pathway, ensuring that the coursework they complete at the associate level is recognized and applied toward their continued academic journey.
Through this agreement, students who complete an associate degree at Wiregrass will be able to transfer their college-level, degree-applicable credits to the University of Phoenix, provided minimum grade requirements are met. General education and elective courses will transfer with a grade of C- or higher, while courses within a required program of study typically require a grade of C or higher.
“This agreement represents a major step forward in creating accessible and flexible educational pathways for our students,” said Dr. Jammie Wilbanks Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness. “We are committed to ensuring that our students not only start strong at Wiregrass but also have the support and opportunity to continue their education and achieve their long-term career goals.”
In addition to maximizing transferability of credits, the agreement includes several key benefits:
- Full acceptance of associate degree coursework, with application toward bachelor’s programs based on the student’s chosen field of study
- Transfer guides and advising resources to help students and faculty navigate course and program alignment
- Reverse transfer opportunities, allowing students who transfer before completing their associate degree to potentially earn their Wiregrass credential at a later time
- Streamlined transition for Associate of Arts graduates, who may enter with many general education and elective requirements already satisfied
Students will still be required to meet all University of Phoenix admissions and program-specific requirements. While there are no costs associated with the agreement itself, standard tuition and fees at the University of Phoenix will apply.
Both institutions will work collaboratively to provide students with the information and resources needed to make informed decisions about their academic future, while maintaining full compliance with FERPA and accreditation standards.
This agreement reflects Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s ongoing commitment to student success, innovation, and the creation of pathways that empower learners to reach the next level in their education and careers.
