Wiregrass Georgia Technical College proudly highlights a special mother-daughter success story, celebrating Campus Director Paulette Brown and her daughter, Chrissa Davis, who graduated from the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program in Spring 2026. Their shared journey reflects the life-changing impact of technical education and the strong sense of community that defines Wiregrass.
Brown, who has served Wiregrass for 17 years, began her own journey at the college as a work-study student and Perkins part-time employee before moving into a full-time role in 2015. Over the years, she has supported countless students in reaching their goals —making the moment her own daughter crossed the graduation stage especially meaningful. Despite the challenges of balancing school with raising three young children, Davis remained determined, drawing inspiration from a strong family legacy in healthcare that includes her father, grandmother, and aunt.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College continues to focus on student success, workforce development, and community impact by providing opportunities that transform lives. For this family, Wiregrass has played a central role across generations. Brown earned her GED in 1990 and later completed two associate degrees at Wiregrass, and Davis’s father completed the Machine Tool diploma program with Wiregrass. Now, with her daughter joining the ranks of Wiregrass graduates, the family’s legacy reflects the college’s mission in action.
“It was an incredible feeling to watch [my daughter] accomplish such an important goal in her life,” said Brown. “Her journey was not easy, but she persevered and accomplished something truly remarkable. I could not be prouder.”
“Wiregrass holds a special place in our family,” Brown added. “From my own education to my daughter’s success, this institution is deeply rooted in who we are. This college truly makes a difference in the lives of students—whether through dual enrollment or traditional pathways.”
As both a leader and advisor at Wiregrass, Brown has witnessed firsthand the growth and transformation of students across a variety of programs—from learning foundational skills to completing credentials and entering the workforce. Her daughter’s achievement is one of many examples of how Wiregrass empowers students to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College offers a wide range of programs through both traditional and dual enrollment pathways, providing students with opportunities to explore careers, gain hands-on experience, and build a strong foundation for the future.
