The 2026 college football season is underway and several Coffee High alumni are playing on teams at every level from NAIA to the Division I ranks. Here is how they’ve done so far this season.
Jaydon Vester, sophomore long snapper, Tennessee State: Played in Tennessee State’s 28-21 loss to Western Illinois.
Maurice Turner, a senior running back with the Tulane University Green Wave: Tulane was idle last week.
Tyrese Woodgett, sophomore running back at Georgia Southern: Returned from injury against Coastal Carolina. Had 2 rushes for 6 yards in the Eagles’ 31-24 win over Coastal Carolina.
Jyarius Carter, sophomore linebacker at Mercer: 5 tackles and 1 quarterback hurry in the Bears’ 54-3 win over VMI.
Anthony Paulk, redshirt sophomore defensive back at Charleston Southern: 7 tackles, 1 pass breakup, half a TFL, and an interception in the Bucs’ 12-10 loss to Gardner Webb.
Jayden Hancock, sophomore defensive back, Charleston Southern: 6 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 quarterback hurry in the Bucs’ 12-10 loss to Gardner Webb.
David “Tug” Vaughn, redshirt sophomore kicker at West Alabama: Did not play in West Alabama’s 29-26 win over Chowan University.
Kyler Smith, sophomore offensive lineman at Georgia Military College: Georgia Military was idle last week.
Chris Reed, sophomore linebacker at Reinhardt University: 1 TFL for 2 yards in Reinhardt’s 45-21 win over Union Commonwealth.
Jackson Banks, junior defensive tackle, Concord University: Had 1 tackle and 1 blocked punt in Concord’s 41-31 win over Frostburg State.
Tyriq Edwards, redshirt sophomore defensive back, Cumberland University: 3 total tackles (1 solo, 2 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 quarterback hurry in Cumberland’s 21-19 loss to Georgetown College.
Kenyon Livingston, freshman cornerback, Point University: 3 tackles in Point’s 17-14 to Bluefield
KJ DeBruce, freshman running back, Savannah State: 4 carries for 12 yards in Savannah State’s 38-36 win over Allen.
